Webair AI LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Detected mobile application ("App") and the website at detected.com ("Website"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App, Website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and any display name you provide. Authentication is handled through Firebase Authentication.
- Emergency Contact Information: Names, phone numbers, and/or email addresses of contacts you designate for SOS alerts and Safety Walk guardians.
- Email for Exposure Check: When you use the dark web monitoring feature, you provide an email address to check against known breach databases.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and app version.
- Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the App, including features used, timestamps, and session duration.
- Location Data: If you grant permission, we collect location data during Safety Walk sessions to share with your designated guardian. Location data is only collected when this feature is actively in use and you have granted explicit permission.
- Network Scan Data: When using the Room Scanner, the App detects nearby Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth devices. This data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Breach Data: We use the Have I Been Pwned API to check email addresses against known data breach databases. Your email is sent to this third-party service using their k-Anonymity model, which means the full email address is never transmitted.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Process and deliver SOS alerts to your designated emergency contacts.
- Facilitate Safety Walk check-ins and guardian notifications.
- Perform exposure checks against breach databases.
- Provide active data removal services (for eligible subscription tiers).
- Send you important service-related communications (e.g., security alerts, account notifications).
- Analyze usage patterns to improve features and user experience.
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- With Your Emergency Contacts: When you trigger an SOS alert or miss a Safety Walk check-in, we share relevant information (such as your name, status, and optionally your location) with your designated contacts.
- Service Providers: We use third-party providers to operate the Service, including Firebase (Google) for authentication and data storage, and the Have I Been Pwned API for breach monitoring. These providers process data on our behalf in accordance with their own privacy policies.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
4. Data Storage and Security
We use Firebase (operated by Google) for secure data storage and authentication. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
Room Scanner data is processed entirely on your device. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scan results are not transmitted to our servers or any third party.
5. Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.
- Safety Walk Data: Location and check-in data from Safety Walk sessions is retained for 30 days after the session ends, then automatically deleted.
- SOS Alert Logs: Records of SOS activations are retained for 90 days for safety and support purposes.
- Exposure Check History: Stored for the duration of your active subscription to provide ongoing monitoring.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data.
- Portability: Request a machine-readable copy of your data.
- Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing communications at any time.
- Location Permissions: You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings. This will disable the Safety Walk location sharing feature.

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you.
- Request deletion of your personal information.
- Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information).

8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information. 9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers. We take appropriate measures to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party service you access.
11. Push Notifications
We may send push notifications related to your safety (SOS alerts, Safety Walk reminders, exposure alerts). You can manage notification preferences in your device settings. Disabling certain notifications may affect the functionality of safety features.
12. Analytics and Tracking
We may use analytics tools to understand how users interact with the Service. These tools may collect information such as how often you use the App, which features you use, and aggregated usage data. This data is used to improve the Service and is not used to personally identify you.
We do not use third-party advertising trackers and do not serve ads within the App.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other appropriate means before the change becomes effective. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when the most recent revisions were made.
